I'm 3 months old!

I started my 4th week back to work today. I can't believe how fast the time is going by! Speaking of time flying, can you believe that Aubrey is 3 1/2 months old already???? She's becoming more vocal, is smiling alot, is trying to roll over, and may have given me her first laugh over the weekend. She was starting to fall asleep and all of a sudden I heard a sound like no other and after I thought about it for a minute I realized that may have been her first laugh. I laughed out loud and then she did it AGAIN! It was so adorable and sweet. I haven't heard it since, but I am hoping we start to hear it more and more. It was the best sound.

Back to Work.....

I went back to work on January 11th. It's amazing how fast 12 weeks went by. It's also amazing to think how far we have come in 12 weeks. From "what the hell do we do now" (day we came home from the hospital) to "ahhhhhh....screaming in the middle of the night" to "ahhhh......her first BLOWOUT" to her first Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, and visit to Santa. Seems like a lot for such a short life. But, it's all been worth it. She's such a wonderful baby, we are so lucky to have her in our lives. On the morning of my first day back, we woke Aubrey up at 7:30am to eat. When John got her up, I cried. When he fed her I cried. When I was leaving for work, I cried. We had snow that morning so I had to focus on driving, so by the time I got to work I had calmed down and was ok when I got to work. The day, and actually the week, flew by because of all the work that I had to catch up on and all the people who wanted to stop by and chat. I didn't really have time to think about her and get sad. She on the other hand had time to think and get sad.......JUST KIDDING! She's doing great with our parents and they are keeping her occupied. I had her sitting in my lap over the weekend just snapping pics and this one happened to come up. It's not like she can hold a pose, so I just sit and snap away. Most pics get deleted, but its the ones like these and become my favorites. :)

Time sure flies!

When I was growing up, I couldn't wait for summer vacation, Christmas break, snow days, half days, etc. The time seemed to stand still. Now that I am grown up, time is flying by. Where did the 2000's go? It seems like yesterday that everyone was worried about Y2K and the ending of the world. Now it's 2010. Sure, a lot has happened over the last 10 years, good and bad, but it seems like in a blink of an eye a decade just flew by. It's hard to believe that John and I will be together 15 years at the end of January and married for 12 come May 1st. We just realized that we have been in our house now for 5 years! I think 2009 is the year that flew by the fastest though. I found out at the end of February that I was pregnant, Summer was here and gone, although we didn't really have one as the weather was not very warm, my baby shower was the end of September and 3 weeks later our beautiful baby girl arrived. Now it's January 5, 2010 and I am getting ready to head back to work on the 11th. It's unfortunate that we cannot afford for me to stay home, but it's probably a good thing for both Aubrey and I. Being a working mom will give me balance and will give her an opportunity to be with her grandparents and develop a relationship that I only wished I had with my grandmas growing up (I lost my grandpa, my buddy, about 25 years ago). It eases my mind knowing that she will be with people who love her and will take good care of her and I won't have to worry as I get readjusted back at work. John and I are very lucky to have parents who want to be with Aubrey while we work. It was never our plan to have a baby and pass her off to our parents while we worked on our careers. They want to babysit. They want to be with her. And that makes me happy.

2 month doctor appointment

Aubrey went to the doctor on Monday, December 28th for her 2 month check up. Here are her stats:

Weight: 11 lbs, 5 oz
Height: 23 inches
I know there are more stats, but I seem to have misplaced the sheet the doctor gave us. I'll track it down. The house is in disarray right now as I am putting all the Christmas decorations away and bringing back out my everyday decorations.

She got 2 shots and she cried pretty hard when they first went in, but after a few minutes she stopped crying and was fast asleep in her car seat before we left the parking lot.

We're so proud of our lil pumpkin--she takes shots and medicine (we've been shooting saline up her nose for congestion and give her Mylanta when her tummy is upset)like a champ....

Aubrey's Baptism

Aubrey was baptised on December 27, 2009 at St. Cletus Church after the 10:30am mass. Father Sidney Eckert officiated. Gina and Aaron are Aubrey's godparents.
